PSALM FOR ST BARTHOLOMEW'S DAY
- We don’t know anything about him, just a disciple:
only his father’s name, yet he’s a saint –
- one of the closest to Jesus, one of the twelve:
Bartholomew the famous, whom nobody knows.
- There can be hope for us, whom nobody knows:
not famous or powerful people, we’re holy too;
- simply by being disciples, called to be saints:
staying close to Christ we can be famous!
- My name is all I need, just to be me:
for in your kingdom of love, I need no more.
